Casual Sequins & a Collaboration

Happy Monday!

I finally feel like a human again after being out of commission for a week with the flu, and I couldn't be happier to be back to blogging today with one of my fellow NC girls!  Today Grace of Gracefullee Made and I wanted to show you how we style our sequin skirts.  Grace is one of my favorite fellow bloggers.  Her looks are always accessorized to perfection and she makes every post look like so much fun!  This outfit is a great example of her cute, preppy style.  I have to run out this week and try to find those amazing blue heels now.  To see more of how Grace styled her sequins, visit her blog here

I chose to style this AHH-mazing sequin mini from Fiore Boutique with a more casual, boho vibe.  I have always loved the pairing of knits and sequins.  I think using knits is a great way to introduce sequins into your day-to-day wardrobe instead of saving them for just special occasions. I also loved the pale neons of this skirt!  They are so unexpected but work so well for this time of year.  Fiore Boutique has become one of my favorite new stops for special pieces like this skirt.  They have a great Holiday line out just in time for all of your parties and celebrations so be sure to go peruse!  I will have a few more great pieces on the blog soon (and you will definitely see this sequin mini over and over again on Instagram!)

Holiday Sparkle

peplum top: Hommage from James Clothing Boutique (call to order!) // Hudson denim // clutch: Brahmin (option ) (option ) // shoes: RL Collection '12 (option ) (option ) // Glamplaza bangles c/o

Happy Tuesday!

I found this AHH-mazing peplum top in one of my favorite local boutiques the other week, and I immediately knew it had to be mine.  Every singe thing about this top screams Holiday party.  I especially fell in love with the color of this piece.  It's rare to find bronze sequins, although they compliment us dirty-blondes so well.  I could not find this top online, but if you just neeeeed it as I did, you can call James Clothing Boutique (linked above) and have it shipped just in time for Holiday parties and NYE!  These Glamplaza gold and turquoise bangles were the perfect touch of bling with the sequins {ps - check back this week for your change to win your own set of bangles!}  and don't even get me started on these RL Collection velvet pumps.  They were gifted to me last year and I have counted the days until it was time to bring them out of the closet.  Nothing says Holiday style like sequins and velvet.

Truth time: I have a problem buying peplum tops that I never wear.  The scenario always proceeds as so:  I try on the top in the dressing room, convince myself it's flattering and cute, take the peplum home, try on said top two days later and have a self esteem melt-down over the fit of the top.  I know there are different cuts of peplum, but I feel that I have played out this same process with every cut, color, shape and texture of peplum.  I don't know what changes in my brain once I am home, but something convinces me that peplum top is the most unflattering thing in the world.  Is anyone else with me on this? If you have tricks or tips for making peplum look better I would love to hear them!

Happy Hump Day!

Thanks for checking out Part Deux of the sequin posts!  If you didn't catch yesterday's post, let me catch you up to speed.  This adorable sequin tee from Southern Charm Apparel is going to be available on Jane.com starting today! Jane offers you adorable clothing, accessories and home goods at a crazy good deal but they are only available in limited quantities and for a short amount of time {this one will be up for 4 days}  I highly recommend joining the mailing list to make sure you never miss a deal!  Also, check out the rest of what Southern Charm Apparel has to offer.  They are truly one of my fav boutiques.  You can always find a unique piece for a steal!

For today's post I styled the gold version of the tee in both a super comfy, casual look for errands or weekend wear, and a dressier version for work, dinners, or parties.  The shade of this shirt makes me feel so giddy and girly!  Perhaps because it's the color of champagne and covered in sequins!  I loved the matching tones in the super cozy Aztec sweater, and accessorized with brown boots and a bulkier bag to perfect a casual feel.  For the second look I also played up the brown tones of the shirt, but added a crisp button-down and leopard pumps for more structured style.

Go check out the deal today on Jane.com!  The tee also comes in red, black and silver.  I'm pretty sure your closet is going to need all four colors for all of the Holiday parties and celebrations that are right around the corner!  The styling possibilities with this shirt are endless!

Happy Tuesday!  A few weeks ago, one of my favorite sites Southern Charm Apparel contacted me regarding styling a piece for their collab with Jane.com.  If you aren't familiar with Jane, they feature adorable clothes, accessories, and home goods from different boutiques for a serious deal.  The catch is the deal is only available for a few days and in limited quantities, so you have to grab it quick! You really need subscribe to the email list to make sure you never miss a deal!

I can't tell you how excited I was when this sequin top arrived {spoiler alert: there is another color coming to the blog tomorrow.}  I may or may not have squealed.  This top was so much fun to style and it will get a lot of wear during the Holiday season.  I mean, what is more fun for parties than sequins ?!?  I decided to style both tops in a more casual look for day and a dressier look for night.  I don't think sequins and sparkle should be limited to after-dark events. The gingham shirt and denim toned down the sequins and made them appropriate for daytime while the faux fur added an element of luxury for a fun nighttime style.

The sequin top will be available on Jane.com starting tomorrow, Wednesday 11/20 and will be on the site for 4 days.  Make sure to check out the deal and to see the other fabulous colors available!  I promise your wardrobe needs this top!
