There are just some pieces that were meant for weekend wear.  A stripped jersey skirt from Fancy Frills Boutique and my favorite Charles River Apparel chambray shirt are just those sort of pieces.  Add comfy platform sandals, a little bling & a clutch I have loved for 14 years (true story) and you have my weekend staples!

So if I'm being perfectly honest, sometimes I need a little incentive to run/workout.  And new workout gear always seems to do the trick.  These Marika magic slimming capris make me feel like I've already been working out all Summer the way they sculpt & slim.  I seriously love slipping them on for everything from a grocery run or dog walk to actually working out (and you can shop them & the rest of the Marika website @ 30% OFF with code MM30 until August 31st!)

How do you make a rainy day better?  A bright tank & fun rain jacket!  This adorable beachcomber coat from Charles River Apparel will actually make you excited for a rainy day.  It's lightweight with a feminine cut and obviously is one of my favorite colors.

Tee-Gee-Eye-Eff !!

This is one of my favorite casual outfits for a Friday workday.  It's comfy and sweet but my top has a collar so it's totally work-appro, right?  

Who doesn't have a chambray button-up in your closet by now??!  Seriously though....  get with it.  This Charles River Apparel chambray shirt will be an absolute staple in your wardrobe January to December.  It pairs with just about everything - even your super summery skirts & dresses - and can be layered over, layered under, worn open, tied up, tied around the waist or tucked in.  It's a staple.  And CRA makes such a wonderful pieces, this shirt will only get better with time.

I cannot tell you how excited I am to be styling these new jewels from Compassion Brands.  I hate a bully.  I came home crying nearly every single day of middle school.  And for no other reason than the insecurities of others.  Plainly put, girls are witches.  And that's the polite version of bullying occurring these days in schools.  It breaks my heart to see someone's spirit broken because they are unique.  If only we could all learn to embrace these differences and stop trying to label and control everything & everyone.  Compassion Brands is bringing attention to this epidemic with fashionable jewelry & clothing by donating percentage of sales to charities which support victims of bullying!

Happy Happy Friday, everyone!

don't worry - I don't really want to get physical with you.  I just have a strange love for ONJ. 

Ok, let's be honest.  I do not workout.  I just don't.  I wish I could sit here and tell you all about how I run five days a week and do workout videos and lift weights...  I don't.  ...I mean, did you notice I am wearing Reebox Runtones circa 2009?  Do they even make these anymore?

Growing up, all of my exercise was fun.  I was a dancer for 18 years, a gymnast for 9 {and the NC State Champion Gymnast when I was 6} a cheerleader for 2 years and a track-runner for about 3 months.  I was always so active doing things I love, so I never had to develop a love or even a like relationship with the gym.  Since high school I have tried to force a relationship and to develop a running schedule, but neither really jelled.

Did you notice my socks match my gear?  Of course you did.  These suuuuper low-cut athletic socks from Kushyfoot are my newest obsession.   They are cut low enough to be invisible even with my chucks, and the inside of the heel is lined with a non-slip grip so they won't do that annoying fall down with every step thing.

I hope y'all are as ready for 5:00 as I am!  Sunday it is supposed to be 70-something and sunny, and I am itching to put the boat in the water for the first time this year.  Especially since it got back down to 32 last night.  grrrrrr.   Silver-lining of the cold resurgence?  I got to test out this fabulous hoodie from Charles River Apparel!  I love pieces that have a fabulous element - like the fur trimmed hood on this casual fleece.  This hoodie is so so SO soft!  But, what I really love is the feminine cut of it.  The back is actually tailored like a heavier coat would be, giving a super flattering and structured shape to a typically loose piece.  It makes you feel like this hoodie can take you places.
