Paint the Town

Happy Monday, friends!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend!  It was so nice to get away and see my parents & family.  But, it's always so hard to say goodbye.  Ohio is simply too far from North Carolina..

The weather was GORgeous in Winston-Salem on Sunday and provided the perfect opportunity to twirl around in my darling new day dress from Paint The Town.  This dress is the ultimate classy, feminine cut and I adored the whimsical mailbox print.   Very Princess Kate & very precious.

I am trying to get back into the groove of things with several cups of coffee.  The worst part of over-packing is having to put away the 20 extra outfits you packed "just in case"   I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

Teensy Weensy White Bikini

It is definitely Friday here at Moda & the Mar!  Let me preface this post by saying I realize that I am in no way a bikini model.  Like, not even close.  I do not workout, I eat just ok, and any sort of "toning exercises" I attempt are done so on my bedroom floor.  Posting these pictures is extremely intimidating and scary.  Like, Fear Factor scary.

That being said, the boat & beach are a huge part of our lives April to October.  Every weekend there is a hint of sunshine, we are on the boat with friends and puppies.  So I wanted to show you some fashionable choices  and some of my favorite suits & coverups for your Spring break or Summer vacation.  Since I am in a bathing suit with anywhere from 2 to 40 of my closest friends every weekend, I always invest in pretty and fun bikinis and coverups.  This monogrammed bikini from RahRah Designs is such a classic suit!  Being a Southern girl, I know the power of a good monogram.  The hot pink initials just pop against the white suit.(ps - this is the first white bathing suit I have ever had and now I don't know why I have hesitated all these years)  However, if you aren't a fan of the white bikini, there are navy and pink options to choose from!  And the bottoms give a nice moderate coverage, which is highly appreciated by a girl with a larger rump.

As you can tell, my peanuts are in Puppy Heaven.  This was their first boat day of the season, and it did not disappoint.  I have a few other bikinis & coverups that I can't wait to show you over the next few weeks, so prepare yourselves!

I hope you have an amazing weekend!

Back In Black

Happy Friday Eve!

Can we talk about the cold snap yesterday?  Ridic.

I don't know why I have been craving black this week, but I will blame it on the weather.  Makes sense.  This cropped sweater from Poof! Apparel was the perfect top to satisfy both the cold chill and my morose tendencies this week.  I kept the look chic and monochromatic with a pair of structured leggings and some fav accessories.  You can find more fab pieces from Poof! Apparel on their Facebook & Instagram pages!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday!  I am just trying to keep my eyes open until Friday at 5.  The hubby, puppies & I are packing up and heading West for family Easter time.  I get to hug my parents for the first time since Christmas, and I may just tackle them.

PS - don't forget to enter the Gotham Decay Giveaway!

NO WAY, it's a Gotham Decay Giveaway

Happy Wednesday, lovers!

I have been loving the graphic tees as of late.  I styled the Vogue tee a little sportier for Monday's post.  This crop top from The Girl That Loves is so in-your-face and slightly grungy, so I wanted to keep the look chic & simple.  The gold logo completely speak for itself.  I also loved the boxy silhouette created with a crop top and a bouncy high-waisted skirt.  You don't always have to show your midriff with a crop top. I'm telling you guys - if I woke up one morning and my closet had been replaced with the entire The Girl That Loves Spring collection, I wouldn't complain.  Not one bit.  I would just say a silent thank you to the fashion elves.  This company can do no wrong.

My Gotham Decay Spring accessories were the perfect finishers to this simple look.  The combo of the sweet pastel hues and sassy cobra print made them a natural fit.  Every time I carry this vacay tote everyday I get a compliment on my vacay tote.  And as soon as I get a compliment, I can't wait to tell the lovely lady (or gent) that it's an animal-free handbag.  Shock and awe.  I adore Gotham Decay for their chic designs, but I love them for their cruelty-free materials.  {use code SPRING for 25% off the entire site until 04/20}.

Good news for all of you fashion & animal lovers - Gotham Decay is giving one lucky reader their very own set of cobra cuffs (pictured in this post) !!!!  These pastel cuffs are the perfect sweet-edge for all of your Spring looks!  Simply enter the Rafflecopter below.  Good Luck!

Spring Weddings: Engagement Party

Happy Tuesday, babes!

Last week on the blog I showed you a bridal shower inspired look with a pair of Hanes sunkissed sheers.  Keeping with the "save the date" theme, I also wanted to give you an option for an engagement party (I would so wear this to a wedding, but I know many people have an issue with wearing black to a wedding) with another favorite pair of tights from Hanes.  A floral kimono makes this look so much more interesting than just wearing a dress.  And my Hanes sheer reflections have  a subtle stripe to them, creating a hidden print-mix.  Don't forget Hanes Hosiery is hosting a Save the Date Sanity Sweepstakes on Facebook all month, with daily prizes and one lucky lady winning $1,000 and a drawer full of sheers!

Although my dress is black, the fun pink & reds make it Spring appro.  The Audrey necklace from Pink Slate Boutique (always one of my favorites) was the perfect match to my floral kimono. PS - I'm hosting a Pink Slate Giveaway on the blog next week!  While you're waiting, shop with code MODANDTHEMAR for 20&% off your purchase !!!

I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!
