Friday. We made it.
There's nothing like a whole lot of orange to wake you up on a Friday. This bold stripe skirt from Coco and Main is so bright, so fun & so appropriate for the 85 degree weather we had this week. I kept it summery with nude wedges and my favorite Hobo clutch that I got for my 15th birthday (yes I am a true clothes/accessories hoarder...)
I have been obsessed with layering dainty baubles right now. Don't worry statement necklaces, I won't be gone for long.... And some of these new pieces get layered on the daily. I love the simplicity of this horseshoe pendant from Coco and Main and the rose gold bar necklace from Shinymix . (don't forget to use code Modaandthemar for 10% OFF your first purchase - & Shinymix always offers free shipping!)
I also have to tell you the story on this Maggie necklace. A Bit of Alexandria takes your handwriting (or someone elses') and creates a piece of art in the form of a necklace. You can use a signature, name, phrase, etc.. When I saw this necklace on Jane.com, I was amazed. I lost my grandmother almost 8 years ago and still miss her terribly every day. My grandparents lived at the beach (where I am now) so of course my brother and I wanted to spend every summer with them. EVERY summer. So they were very influential in my life. My freshman year of college, my grandmother would write me a letter each week with a $20 bill inside. She would write about the weather, the dog, her garden...nothing of consequence. But I so looked forward to getting that letter every week. I kept a handful of them and read them from time to time for a nice memory. And not so much the memory of the words, but the memory of her handwriting. Her handwriting is the most distinctive script I know. I could spot it a mile away. And thanks to this dainty silver necklace, I will have one of my favorite memories close to my heart forever.
I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!
