TGIF everyone!

I hope everyone got over their tryptophan lull in time to snag a few Black Friday deals!  I am actually out with the crazies this morning with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law.  They go on an all-day shopping binge every Black Friday, and this year I took off work to join them.

Requirements for today:  comfy shoes that are easy to take on and off, Starbucks, a shirt that doesn't completely ruin my hair when trying on clothes, Starbucks, a crossbody purse, Starbucks.

Even if you slept in this morning, there are still tons of deals online.  Today I wanted to show you one of my favorite new web finds.  This clutch from Sew Sarah R is one of the cutest things I have seen in a while.  They are all handmade and completely customizable from the clasp to the monogram location.  I chose to put my monogram on the inside for a sweet secret that only I know about that I will flash to anyone who will pay attention.  The idea of putting the monogram on the inside for a change has this Southern girl very excited!  Sarah carries so many adorable and trendy fabrics, from ikat and chevron to ombre and snakeskin.  AND GOOD NEWS - she is having a Black Friday sale today!  Go checkout the site and create a few clutches for your favorite gal pals or family.  I love the idea of giving a personalized present for Christmas, birthdays, or even for your bridesmaids.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend! Thanks for reading!  Linkups below.

Closet Confessions and Tofurkey

marble link necklace c/o // faux leather peplum: TJ Maxx; old (similar ) // denim // clutch: Steve Madden; old (love this one ) // pumps: Target; old (J.Crew version )

Happy Wednesday {for me Happy Friday} !

I hope everyone is getting ready for lots of turkey and fixings tomorrow!  I will be celebrating with meatless beef-tips and veggie-friendly side dish on the table.  With my parents now living in Ohio, I spend Thanksgiving with my husband's family here in NC.  My mother-in-law is sweet enough to make me a vegetarian dish every Thanksgiving even though they are complete carnivores.  She has even started making meat-free collards, stuffing and baked beans so I feel like I am experiencing everything Thanksgiving has to offer.  It truly is heart-warming since I am so far away from my own family each year.  While I love my in-laws dearly, it gets harder each year to be separated from my family on a day in which the entire premise is to be with a celebrate loved ones.  But I do have an infinite amount to be thankful for.  I hope you all take a few moments tomorrow to forget about blogging, Black Friday and wish-lists to remember what is truly important in your life.

Ok, on to the fun stuff.  Confession time - I have had this faux-leather peplum top hanging in my closet for at least 2 months now and have yet to wear it.  It was random $15 find at TJ Maxx one day, and I have been waiting for just the right time to wear it and I have completely forgotten about it.  I kept telling myself once I found the perfect necklace I would dust it off and share it with the world.  Enter this marbled beauty from Happy Wrist .  I loved how the thick acrylic chain paired with the edgy faux-leather, and the snakeskin clutch was just a perfect match.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  Thanks for reading.  Linkups below!

Sweater Weather

sweater: TJ Maxx (option ) // denim // bag // booties: Apri (similar ) // initials necklace c/o // heart ring c/o // link bracelets c/o

Happy Tuesday!  I hope everyone has warmed up from that cold blast we got over the weekend. I was not at all prepared for the chilly temps, but luckily I had just scooped up this cozy sweater from TJ Maxx and had an excuse to wear it.  It just might be the softest piece of clothing I own, and at just $15 I might have to go pick up one in every color they have.  This is what I wore to and from the fashion show on Sunday and is generally my go-to outfit for weekends.  It was super comfy and easy to get in and out of for outfit changes at the show.  I loved having the strap on this Dooney & Bourke so my hands were free to carry outfits and accessories, and this pair of Paige skinnies are my absolute favorites right now.

These chunky bracelets from Happy Wrist were the perfect touch to this casual fall look.  I love adding thick bracelets to the arm party when I am wearing heavier sweaters, and these rose gold and black enamel bracelets are just that.  Happy Wrist carries such a great variety of trendy pretties that won't break the bank.  I already have a few other goodies saved on my wish-list.

A Preppy Edge

plaid button down // faux leather skirt // booties // tassel necklace // clutch: TJ Maxx; old (similar ) // watch // bracelets: old; boutique (option )

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I had such a great time at the fashion show Sunday despite the bone-chilling temps.  45 degrees is not ok with this girl.  There were so many fun looks in the show, and I definitely took a mental note of a few pieces to add to the Christmas wish-list

I love the perfect amount of prep and edge that this plaid and faux leather skater skirt create.  This skirt was a steal from Forever 21 and I seriously wear it at least once a week.  It's so fun and versatile.  Secret shopping tip - check the boys section at stores like Old Navy and department stores.  Often the boys LG/XL will fit a women's small or medium and they always have the true masculine plaid button-ups.  This one was a Ralph Lauren from the boys section of Belk.  The buckles on these Sam & Libby booties play up the edgy feel of this look, and these days I feel no outfit is complete without my favorite tassel from Mint Sugar Boutique .

Work Flair & Big Buns

Tee-Gee-Eye-Eff!!!

I could not be more excited for 5:00pm today.  It is definitely time for some R&R this weekend.  I am also extremely excited to be participating in Shop, Savor & Sip , the 24th Annual Luncheon & Fashion Show benefiting my local Domestic Violence Program.  This is a subject I feel very passionately about.  I am a strong, independent, free-willed woman and I want every female empowered.  As Beyoncé would say, who run the world...  It is nice to be mixing my love of fashion and a wonderful cause.  For all of you local readers, buy a ticket and come support the program this Sunday at the Civic Center from 12:30-3:30.  Lunch is catered and there will be wonderful Fall & Winter fashion from local businesses.  If you follow me on Instagram {@mbfrost} you got a preview of one of my outfits for Sunday.  SO exciting!!

Today I wanted to show you a typical outfit for the 9-5 part of my life.  I work in personal finance, and have to be on the business end of business-casual most days.  However, I refuse to let this limit the personal style I pull into my work ensembles.  While this look still feels professional and put-together, I think the fun heart sweater and pop of cobalt in the heels make 9-5 fashion fun.

I also love rocking the major ballerina buns to work.  And no, that is not all  my natural hair.  Quickie how-to:  I start with a high ponytail, and I use both a sock bun{or you can buy one of those sponge ones} AND one of those ridiculous pony-tail fake hair pieces.  You know, the ones that go around your ponytail or bun and look like a circle fan of hair?  Once I have both of those around the ponytail I distribute my real hair water-fall style around the fillers and secure it with an elastic.  wrap the rest of the hair around the base of the bun, pin and fluff!  I know that was a terrible explanation, but hopefully you get the gist.

Make sure to checkout Instagram today.  I have teamed up with 5 other fabulous ladies for a fun, glitzy Holiday Giveaway!  {@mbfrost}

A Printed Coat

Happy Friday Eve!

Shewl.  It has been a rough week.  November is one of the busiest months at my 9-5 gig, things are picking up with the blog, Holiday shopping and planning have begun, getting back in shape {nope} volunteer projects, etc. etc....  Anxiety is in full swing in my day-to-day and I find myself making list after list to deal with it {please tell me I am not the only one that feels making the same list 6 times a day helps to relieve some of my anxiety about time management.}  But, as much as I like to complain about it, I like busy.  I love busy.  I have always been the girl who signs up for just one more task even though I will be crying at 1:00 in the morning trying to finish everything.  I just feel better about myself and life when I have a full plate.

I also love printed coats.  They are such an easy way to add interest to a typically plain outfit.  I found this b&w one at a local boutique a few years ago for a steal and I wear it more than I ever thought I would.  I paired it with this nude number from my most recent tote and kept everything else a tad conservative for work.

If you follow me on Instagram, you have probably noticed a new additional to the daily stack.  This adorable tan bracelet from Chelsea Carroll Designs is handmade and completely customizable.  I chose to add M <3 M charms {Maggie & Matt}.  There are hundreds of options with all of the colors and charms available.  Go check out her website and create one to remind you of someone/something special.  -or to just add to the arm party.

Thanks for reading!  Checkout today's linkups below.  Also - I am very excited to announce that this look was chosen as one of the featured three in the Three-fer Thursday Linkup hosted by Bethany of Perfectly Coutured and Meghan of Every Day Fashion and Finance. Make sure to check out these ladies and their weekly Thursday Linkup.  Besides being two of the sweetest blogging gals I know, they both have a completely relatable style and will help you look adorable on a daily basis!
