so i love work wear just as much as the next gal.  truly i do.  but sometimes us worker bees have after-work social lives and don't want to look stiff or corporate.  the best way to change your look for a night cap?  swap the jacket. 

this classic navy shift from Piperlime is nothing short of perfection.  it is so me, it's ridiculous.  one of my favorite colors, classic, timeless, versatile.  i'm in love.  BUT i wanted to make sure that when i take of my blazer i can still look relaxed & ready for a toddy.  and since it's still warm on the east coast, i can get away with wearing my trusty denim jacket.  denim has a way of making things appear more casual, which is exactly what i wanted to accomplish with my little shift dress.  

i could have also swapped out my pumps for something a little more flirty, but when your heels are this hot you have to run with it.  i am beyond in love with the unique shape of these python pumps.  the quality & fit are amazing and i appreciate the lower heel that lets me work in them all day & still go out on the town!

how fun is this dress ?!! 

i fell in love with the print & colors the moment i saw it.  the jewel tones and long sleeves make this a perfect fall dress.  the modest cut and fit also make it work appropriate.  which makes it priceless in my book.  since the weather can't figure out what it wants to do lately, i paired it with my favorite boots and an easy side-braid pony for a put-together work ensem.  pulling my hair back keeps me from playing with it all day at work.  make sure to check out Avery Lane Boutique!  some of the cutest fall trends & accessories that won't blow your budget!

Easing into Fall layers is easy with this lightweight kimono cardi from Sugar Love Boutique.  I love the tribal print & frayed edges.  It makes for such a perfect layer on 90 degree days!  Kinomos and long cardigans are also one of my work-wear tricks.  They allow me to wear dresses that would otherwise be semi inappro.  ie: this dress has a sheer back and I have to cover it up with something for work.

So most days when I sleep through my alarm clock three six times and I am running later than late to work, you can find me in some version of this "appropriate-black-dress-but-fun-jewels-and-shoes" combo.  It's skip the matching of separates and instead fill my three minutes of getting ready time with accessorizing.  

This darling necklace from Jewel Box is perfect to dress up a simple work outfit without being over the top for the office.  And the sapphire cocktail ring adds a bit of sparkle to the ensem.  Not familiar with Jewel Box ??!  They are a trendy online boutique (and there are 4 stores for you NC gals) offering an incredible range of products, all at very appealing prices.  It is seriously one of those go-to stores for an accessory to complete any outfit.  Fun fact about Jewel Box?  I worked in the Winston Salem location all four years of college!  Best.  Job.  Ever.  I got paid to play with jewelry and help women accessorize all day!  What else could you want?!  

I am also loving my new MICHE bag for a more polished work look.  I just recently discovered the MICHE product line, and I am super excited about it!  The bags (which come in a variety of shapes & sizes) have interchangeable fronts so you can match your bag to your look without too much trouble.  Honestly, I cannot tell you how many times I have swapped out purses on the way out the door and forgot something really important...like my wallet.  This takes the hassle out of the process!  Genius!

Can I just be honest for a minute and tell you that I could wear a floral skirt just about every day of the week?  Especially one as darling & comfy as this one from my favorite, The Girl That Loves (ps - they have added some of the CAHuutest tops as of late!)  This type of skirt is easy and practical for work and can be accessorized in a jiffy when I'm 5 minutes late running out the door...which, if you know me, is everyday.  EVERY day.  True story.

Happy Friday Eve!

Can we talk about the cold snap yesterday?  Ridic.  

I don't know why I have been craving black this week, but I will blame it on the weather.  Makes sense.  This cropped sweater from Poof! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday!  I am just trying to keep my eyes open until Friday at 5.  The hubby, puppies & I are packing up and heading West for family Easter time.  I get to hug my parents for the first time since Christmas, and I may just tackle them.

Today is my last work day until my weekend getaway - and it's a short one at that.  While my work dress code is on the less casual side of business attire, some days require something a little more easy-going than slacks or a pencil skirt.  This sweet dress from Sweettart Clothing was perfect for my casual partial day.  A structured navy blazer and nude pumps made it appropriate for work, but I can't wait to pair this dress with sandals and a fedora.  The stripes and pops of coral give it such a fun nautical feel!  I was so excited to share Sweettart clothing with you!  I have found some of the most darling pieces to fill my closet with as of late.  You can shop on facebook & on Instagram, and I promise you will find a piece or 5 you can't live without!  There will be some fabulous fringe on the blog tomorrow from Sweettart!
