Alone Time & Thunderstorms

Happy Hump Day!

Sorry for the distance lately.  It's not you, it's me.  Seriously.  I needed a little alone time this week I say that as 10 lbs of tzu tzu has taken up residence on my neck.  And I enjoyed said alone time in one of my favorite new combos - a fun anchor top from Pink Slate Boutique & these sassy lace shorts from Bleue Boutique.  two new favorites from two of my favorites...

We have had some crazy strong thunderstorms this week (hence the grainy pics - sorries)  which just reinforces the alone-time-attitude.  But hopefully the weather will cooperate in time for my BIRTHDAY tomorrow!  whoop whoop !!  But really, getting older hurts.  You have to actually do things, like work, on your birthday...  but, I have a SUUPER fun skirt to celebrate that I can't wait to share with you guys tomorrow!

Balance

Happy Hump Day!

I don't know if it is all of the personal issues this month has presented or if my ocd has increased triple-fold, but I am currently finding it hard to achieve balance in my life.  There's always something suffering - my friendships, sleep, much needed phone convos with the rents, my health, housework, sleep, puppy snuggle time (nah, that always comes first..), sleep.  You get the picture.  There simply aren't enough hours in the day and I need to quit trying to control it. ....but seeing as how I am typing this post at 1 am after working 9 hours, cooking dinner and cleaning, I guess I will work on balance tomorrow.

I tried to get back on balance with an all-weekend veg session.  The hubby & I rediscovered Weeds and watched too many episodes for a sane person to admit and even managed to pack in Sharknado 1 AND 2.  It literally rained from Friday morning to Sunday evening so it was the perfect weekend to be a bum.  I'm talking BUM.  I did not leave the house until Monday morning.  It was amazing.

What else helps with the balance?  These FAB shorts from Pink Slate Boutique.  The pattern is so flattering and runs a little Gatsby.  And of course I am obsessed with the coral hue.  These definitely remind you Summer is far from over...especially when you live in the South.

Candy Crush & A Pink Slate Giveaway

The Girl That Loves neon tulle skirt c/o | TGTL crop top c/o

Shop Prima Donna sandals c/o | similar watch

Happy Wednesday!

Oh Emm Gee.  How amazing is this neon tulle skirt from my favorite, The Girl That Loves.  I mean, really.  Adult princess style.  The color reminds me of green skittles (btw - did you know the lime Skittle is now Green Apple?  Weird, but I don't hate it) and this skirt is even fluffier, sparklier & tullier than the lemonade dream skirt I wore in this post.  I kept the color palette fun and bright with an oldie but goodie, the Lora crop top.  TGTL is seriously the mecca of tulle skirts.  If you can dream it, they can make it.... but for reals.  There is even a tulle skirt with colored pom poms inside.  Sups fun.

The perfect finisher to the look was this gorgeous Sea of Cream necklace from another one of my favorite companies, Pink Slate Boutique.  The fan-fringe shape was just graphic enough to compete with the print of the crop.  The cream & mint is such a dreamy color combo, and I know this necklace will be popular with my summer wardrobe.  PS - while you're shopping, use code MODANDTHEMAR for 20% OFF your purchase!!

And because my Pink Slate friends are so amazing, they want to gift one lucky reader with  Sea of Cream necklace set (yep, comes with earrings too !!! ) & a $15 Pink Slate Giftcard!   You know the drill...

Spring Weddings: Engagement Party

Happy Tuesday, babes!

Last week on the blog I showed you a bridal shower inspired look with a pair of Hanes sunkissed sheers.  Keeping with the "save the date" theme, I also wanted to give you an option for an engagement party (I would so wear this to a wedding, but I know many people have an issue with wearing black to a wedding) with another favorite pair of tights from Hanes.  A floral kimono makes this look so much more interesting than just wearing a dress.  And my Hanes sheer reflections have  a subtle stripe to them, creating a hidden print-mix.  Don't forget Hanes Hosiery is hosting a Save the Date Sanity Sweepstakes on Facebook all month, with daily prizes and one lucky lady winning $1,000 and a drawer full of sheers!

Although my dress is black, the fun pink & reds make it Spring appro.  The Audrey necklace from Pink Slate Boutique (always one of my favorites) was the perfect match to my floral kimono. PS - I'm hosting a Pink Slate Giveaway on the blog next week!  While you're waiting, shop with code MODANDTHEMAR for 20&% off your purchase !!!

I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!

Monday Brights

Happy Last Day of March!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I went to Raleigh to see my bestie and to finally meet some of my amazing blogger friends at the Southern Blog Society NC meet-up.  Moon & Lola hosted the event, and can I just tell you that everything in that store is adorable?  I want to bring it all home with me to replace one of my spare rooms.  I'm sure the hubby won't mind.  The NC blogging beauties could not have been more precious in person!  A special thank you to Emily for organizing everything!

Today is the last Monday of the month, and a sups busy work day for me.  What better to tackle that than a neon work outfit.  Normally this bright skirt from Pink Slate Boutique would be too much paired with a neon yellow, but the grey & white stripes of the Poof! Apparel top serve as a nice buffer between the vibrant hues.  Need some brights in your life?  Use CODE MODANDTHEMAR for 20% off your purchase from Pink Slate Boutique !

And speaking of adorable brights, how cute is my new phone case from Minnie & Emma ??!?  Never underestimate how crucial a cute phone case is to a fashion/style blogger.  Selfies anyone?
 Thanks for reading!  Go crush your Monday! {ps - don't forget to enter the White Plum Giveaway}
