peplum top: Hommage from James Clothing Boutique (call to order!) // Hudson denim // clutch: Brahmin (option ) (option ) // shoes: RL Collection '12 (option ) (option ) // Glamplaza bangles c/o
Happy Tuesday!
I found this AHH-mazing peplum top in one of my favorite local boutiques the other week, and I immediately knew it had to be mine. Every singe thing about this top screams Holiday party. I especially fell in love with the color of this piece. It's rare to find bronze sequins, although they compliment us dirty-blondes so well. I could not find this top online, but if you just neeeeed it as I did, you can call James Clothing Boutique (linked above) and have it shipped just in time for Holiday parties and NYE! These Glamplaza gold and turquoise bangles were the perfect touch of bling with the sequins {ps - check back this week for your change to win your own set of bangles!} and don't even get me started on these RL Collection velvet pumps. They were gifted to me last year and I have counted the days until it was time to bring them out of the closet. Nothing says Holiday style like sequins and velvet.
Truth time: I have a problem buying peplum tops that I never wear. The scenario always proceeds as so: I try on the top in the dressing room, convince myself it's flattering and cute, take the peplum home, try on said top two days later and have a self esteem melt-down over the fit of the top. I know there are different cuts of peplum, but I feel that I have played out this same process with every cut, color, shape and texture of peplum. I don't know what changes in my brain once I am home, but something convinces me that peplum top is the most unflattering thing in the world. Is anyone else with me on this? If you have tricks or tips for making peplum look better I would love to hear them!

very nice sparkle indeed!
ReplyDeleteI love your sparkly top! Like you said, it's so great for holiday parties. And your hair is amazing. I try so hard for my hair to curl like that, but it never turns out right. What size barrel do you use? Thanks for linking up!

Thank you so much! I use a 1" barrel and curl about 1-2 inch sections away from my face. I watched Emily Gemma's tutorial and it finally clicked for some reason!
DeleteI don't know what you're talking about this top looks gorgeous on you! But my fave way to wear a peplum top is over a fitted skirt, whether it's pencil or mini! It definitely helps slim and lengthen your lower half!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL party top! Not sure about your peplum problem, I have 1 peplum top that I think I have worn once. Need to work on that myself! Stopping by from the Trend Spin linkup.
