Silver & Gold

It's Christmas Eve!!!

I feel as though I have been planning for Christmas Eve for months.  And I know the today and the rest of the week are going to go by so quickly.  We started the celebrations last night with dinner at my sister-in-laws house.  This is one of the only times each year that my family and the in-laws get to spend time together.  Both the laughs and drinks were strong all night.  It's that feeling of joy that makes me cherish the Holiday season.

As soon as I saw this dress from Fiore Boutique I knew I had found my NYE dress.  I think a lot of pressure is put on the New Years Eve dress.  I always want something sparkly, sexy and special enough to mark the beginning of a new year.  This dress is all of that and more.  I love the graphic lines on the front and the sporting feel of the razor-back cut.  It doesn't hurt that the entire front is covered in sequins.  You really don't need many accessories with this unique of a dress.  I brought out a black evening clutch that hardly gets used and my favorite Reece & Blaire bangles.  I wanted my shoes to be equally as fun as the dress, so I dusted off these silver sling-backs with an adorable bow on the toe.  I bought these BCBG heels for my wedding rehearsal so they feel so special to me.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas tomorrow filled with love and laughter.  We will be one family member short tomorrow so my heart will be a little sad.  My brother is not able to make it to the coast for Christmas and I am heartbroken over it.  But I know he will be here in spirit and us with him!

Off The Grid

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!  I had a wonderful time with family members that I don't see near enough.  It's so nice to catch up with everyone and enjoy a few laughs.  And, I have already started the Holiday binge diet.  Here's to hoping all of my sparkly dresses still fit come New Years Eve!

I wore this outfit to work last week.  The black and white color palette is so simple, but there is so much edge in the details.  The suede panel on the skirt and moto booties keep the look interesting and modern.  There are a few new favorites in the arm party, and of course I am still finding every excuse to wear the chunky knit scarf from Fiore Boutique!

I hope everyone is getting as excited about Christmas as I am!  Thanks for reading.  Linkups below.

Southern As Sweet Tea

Happy Thursday!  Two.  More.  Days.  Just two more 9-5 days and I am free, free, free until Thursday!   After 5:00 Friday, my days will be filled with Christmas cookies, Christmas cocktails, Christmas outfits, Christmas music, Christmas dinners, Christmas love, Christmas presents....  well, you get the picture.  I will be 9-5 checked out for a few days.

I don't know if any of you love t-shirts like I do.  I really love t-shirts.  And I really, really LOVE long-sleeve t-shirts.  There is something about an incredible fitting t-shirt and denim combo that makes me feel so comforted.  Maybe it's because I spent the majority of my college days in this combo (swap denim for gauchos all of sophomore year - yikes) or maybe it's the bond formed between my college roomie and I over the love of t-shirts (weird and true.) But, when I saw this adorable Lauren James tee from Fiore Boutique , I knew it had to be part of the collection.  Down here in NC we show our Southern Pride with adorable colloquialisms, monogrammed everything, seersucker, sweet tea and manners.  If you still need more clarification, you can watch the YouTube videos Sh*t Southern Women Say 1, 2 and 3.  They are so hilarious and so true. Make sure to check out the other ways to show your Southern Pride with Lauren James here

To keep things extra comfy/casual, I added a cable knit scarf from Fiore and leg warmer/boot socks.  I wasn't joking on Instagram when I said I might live in this scarf until Spring.  It is so super chunky and soft, perfect for bundling up through Winter.

Casual Sequins & a Collaboration

Happy Monday!

I finally feel like a human again after being out of commission for a week with the flu, and I couldn't be happier to be back to blogging today with one of my fellow NC girls!  Today Grace of Gracefullee Made and I wanted to show you how we style our sequin skirts.  Grace is one of my favorite fellow bloggers.  Her looks are always accessorized to perfection and she makes every post look like so much fun!  This outfit is a great example of her cute, preppy style.  I have to run out this week and try to find those amazing blue heels now.  To see more of how Grace styled her sequins, visit her blog here

I chose to style this AHH-mazing sequin mini from Fiore Boutique with a more casual, boho vibe.  I have always loved the pairing of knits and sequins.  I think using knits is a great way to introduce sequins into your day-to-day wardrobe instead of saving them for just special occasions. I also loved the pale neons of this skirt!  They are so unexpected but work so well for this time of year.  Fiore Boutique has become one of my favorite new stops for special pieces like this skirt.  They have a great Holiday line out just in time for all of your parties and celebrations so be sure to go peruse!  I will have a few more great pieces on the blog soon (and you will definitely see this sequin mini over and over again on Instagram!)
