Moda & The Mar

Happy Hump Day!

Today's post is a perfect representation of the heart of this blog - Moda & the Mar: fashion and the sea.  These are my two true loves - aside from the hubs, family and pups of course.  Simple, chic fashion style and the gorgeous backdrop of my life.  We are lucky enough to live in a coastal town, and spend every weekend  from March to October on the beach or in the boat.  And I never get tired of it or take it for granted.  Ever.  There is a high-rise bridge connecting our town to the island, and every single time I drive across that bridge I take  a deep breath, soak in the beauty of how small the island looks nestled in-between the sound and sea, and whisper a large thank-you for the blessing of calling this place Home.

Today's look for less is this simple, chic day dress from T.J. Maxx for $19.99 {yes, I am pushing the under $20 rule with this one..}  Sometimes there is nothing chicer or sexier than a well-fitting shift dress.  The classic silhouette is uber feminine and opens endless styling possibilities.  I chose to break a few old fashion "rules" with this one.  I am rocking these gorgeous white heels way past Labor Day.  I was thankful the 70 degree day allowed me to go tight-less, but these beauties would look just as great with a black opaque tights.  I am also aware my shoes and purse don't match, and I don't care.  I love mixing my neutral accessories.  Black & brown, white & black, navy & black, camel & navy, white & camel... don't be afraid to "mix-it-up" and cross-breed your pieces.

Thanks for reading!  ps - I added a scenery shot below for inspiration!   Linkups Below too!
