Happy Hump Day, Ya'll!
Shewl - this is a short work week and I already feel that it's been too long. One of my favorite work day pick-me-ups is a spontaneous date night with my main man. BUT - if your guy is anything like mine, the last thing he wants to do when I get off work is to wait in "starvation" while I pick out a whole new dinner ensem. It's not that I can't wear my work clothes to dinner, I just always want to freshen-up and look a little less corporate librarian before we go out. ...also, my date night clothes and accessories deserve a trip out of the closet every now and then.
One way I have learned to compromise on this issue is by restyling one of the work pieces (be it pants, a dress or a top) into something a little more flirty to go out. This trick especially comes in handy on birthdays and holidays that fall on week days!
This gorgeous dress from my new friends at The Lime Leopard Boutique was perfect for this! I am head-over-heels for the studs and cutout shoulder details. You guys - if you aren't familiar with The Lime Leopard yet, hop on over and get cozy! Everything they stock is adorable and necessary. Everything. My wish-list is already a page long. This sassy red dress was a little too sassy for the workplace, but perfect for date night. Throw on a long blazer {I swear this blazer is black and that I am not color blind. I don't know why it looks so navy in pics} cinched with the hubby's belt and a pair of opaque tights, and you are work-appro and ready to go! For dinner that night, I simply swapped the blazer and tights for a nude pump and clutch, and spent a few minutes with my best friend - dry shampoo.
How perfect would this dress be for Valentines Day??!? - and since it's on a Friday this year, you can bet I will be repping one of my work-to-play tricks.
{just a random side-note, please disregard the terrible scar on my leg. True Life- it's a high-heel gash from trying to get ready in a hurry}
